The Almaghrib London Student Support Grant
PLEASE READ BELOW AS UPDATES HAVE BEEN MADE TO THIS PROCESS.
It is through the blessing of Allah and the generosity of others that The Student Support Grant functions. We ask Allah to accept it from them and reward their actions
The Student Support Grant is used to financially assist individuals to attend the Qabeelat AlShams seminars. There is a limited budget allocated and thus a limited number of places.
All the information submitted is completely confidential and is used only by select few who are relevant to the decision making process.
Conditions
If you accept the funding to attend the seminar you agree to:
- Make a dua for those that have made this possible.
- Attend each day of the seminar. (Friday 7-10pm/ Sat-Sun 10am-7pm)
- Sit the exam of the seminar.
- Make a financial contribution of a minimum 50 % of the course fee.
- Make payment by the deadline stated
- Take part in AlMaghrib QShams project such as note taking, gems, volunteering.
- Only 3 people per household can apply at each seminar
- A formal deadline for payments (see below) to be made and you will automatically forfeit your place and go to the back of the queue if: 1) You don't make your payment by the deadline 2) You have not contacted us to make prior arrangements
Failure to comply with these conditions may lead to the scholarship being revoked or future applications being rejected.
Criteria
Islamic knowledge is priceless and thus making the decision on who is most deserving is very difficult. Each application is dealt with on an individual basis and is judged on the information provided. The most important criteria in alphabetical order are:
- Age
- Employment Status
- Family Structure
- Income/Savings
- Interest in the subject
- What you intend to with with the knowledge
The Process
The steps to apply for a scholarship are:
- Completion of the online application form by the deadline: 10 June 2012
- Enrol for the chosen seminar by visiting: http://almaghrib.org/london
- You will then receive a reply within 10 working days at a first come first serve basis.
- If your application is accepted you must make payment by the deadline given.
If your application is declined you may appeal by emailing:
